Roy Jones Jnr to contest WBF World Cruiserweight Title

The legend Roy Jones Jr. and Bobby The Celtic Warrior Gunn are scheduled to battle for the WBF Cruiserweight World Title on Friday February 17th at The Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware USA. This epic 12 round showdown has been labelled Skill v. Will, as Roy Jones Jr. looks to apply his skills on Bobby Gunn, an undefeated Bareknuckle Champion under the Bareknuckle Fighting Championships banner. Roy Jones Jr. (64-9) is on a two fight win streak and looking forward to proving the critics wrong, while Bobby Gunn(21-6) is planning to bring his experience mixed with pressure and power. Bobby Gunn is on a three fight losing streak as his last professional boxing match was in December of 2013. These decision losses came at the hands of seasoned veterans Tomasz Adamek, James Toney, and Glen Johnson. Even though, Bobby Gunn hasn't been boxing as of late, he has been fighting bareknuckle fights and destroying everyone in his path increasing his record to 72-0 under that banner.

At the first press conference in December of 2016, these fighters showed great respect for one another and promised not to disappoint the fans. Roy states that he will be prepared for this contest and is very well aware of what The Celtic Warrior can bring. Apparently several years ago, these fighters were scheduled to meet, but the fight did not take place. According to Roy Jones Jr., there was a previous promise made to Bobby Gunn that they would in fact fight and guess what? The time is now.

The final press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15th, followed up by the weigh-in on Thursday February 16th. Tickets can be purchased at www.firststatefights.com
