Daniel 'The Rock' Dawson In Fight For WBF Junior-Middleweight World Title

Dawson commits to luring another world title for Australia.

As a five-time National Boxing Champion and seven-time World Champion Kick boxer, Daniel ‘The Rock’ Dawson is hungrier than ever for a world title against tough American Alex Bunema in Perth on Friday 20th September.

Vying for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Junior-Middleweight Title, Dawson promises for an actioned packed fight where he will show Australian boxing fans he is the best in the country in his weight division.

“I want to take on the best to be the best, I’m excited to be able to do it at my home town in Perth” says Dawson.

Alex Bunema has been in the ring with boxing greats Sergio Martinez, Jermain Taylor and had his career highlight in KOing Roman Kamarzin who Australia’s Daniel Geale beat for the IBF World title eliminator in 2010. This will be Daniels toughest test to date.

“It’s a very exciting time and stepping stone for me and I am just bursting with happiness and pride to see my dreams and goals coming closer” says Dawson, who has 39 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw to his name.

A victory for Dawson against Bunema would also give him the credibility to challenge current World Champions in the USA where he is hoping to secure fights next year or bring bigger names here to Perth.

The fight will be held at the WA Italian Club, 219 Fitzgerald St. Perth on Friday 20 September. Doors open at 6:30pm with six professional boxing bouts starting at 7pm.
