WBF President Mick Croucher Welcomes Scotland's Kenny Barr to the Family

Kenneth Barr known as Kenny to his friends and family was born in Glasgow Scotland on March 25th 1983 and raised in Stevenston Ayrshire.

Under the tutelage of former Scottish Light Heavyweight Andy Peden, Kenny trained in some of the top gyms in Scotland along with some of the top prospects in Scotland, until tears in the Glenloid Labrum halted this. Wanting to keep involved in the sport he loved, he helped a "small hall" promoter develop their brand and help promote their fighters and shows. While doing this he helped develop the boxing website Pro Box Scotland to give Scottish boxing a platform to promote itself to the world. In 2015 he joined the Malta Boxing Commission in the role of an official. A role that he excelled in very quickly the proof of this is he was a huge driving force behind bringing the Craig Docherty v Michael Kelly WBU Super Welterweight World title fight to Paisley Scotland on 8th August 2015, which was the first Malta Boxing Commission sanctioned world title fight outside Malta. In September 2015 he put onto the main board and made Vice Chairman of the Malta Boxing Commission before being made Regional Representative Scotland within the World Boxing Foundation.

Mr Gianluca Di Caro, Chairman of the Malta Boxing Commission,  said "Kenny Barr is a valued and integral part of the Malta Boxing Commission board, since joining the MBC Board Kenny has proved to be one of the hardest working, and most liked people in UK Boxing and as such know that he will be as much of an asset for the World Boxing Foundation as he is for the MBC"
