Italian Christian Daghio crowned WBF International Light Heavyweight Champion

Thailand – Ram100 Boxing Stadium hosted the vacant WBF International Light Heavyweight Title August 15th in Thailand.

Not often do we see two fighters prepared and willing to put their undefeated records on the line for a shot at Championship Title glory.

Christian Daghio & Singthong Kiatpracha

In one corner undefeated Italian Christian Daghio 7(7KO)-0 and in the other undefeated Singthong Kiatpracha (alias Nattapon Plangpimai) of Thailand 10(7KO)-0. With two knock out specialists coming face to face, this fight was always going to be an exciting Championship bout and one that was to produce fireworks in front of the capacity crowd in attendance.

In an extremely busy and rugged affair that was scheduled for 12 rounds, both fighters had their moments in a seesawing battle that saw Kiatpracha injuring his left shoulder mid way through the 9th round  in a heated exchange centre ring.

The Thai’s injury was to ultimately take its toll with Kiatpracha’s corner not allowing their charge to answer the bell for the 10th round giving Daghio his 8th win by stoppage in as many outings.

“It was a very competitive fight that was very evenly matched and most worthy of a WBF Championship Title” said WBF Supervisor Panya Prachakorn who was ringside for the Championship contest.
