Fiji's Ronald Naidu claims WBF Australasian Super Welterweight Crown

In what was a historic event promoted by Kiran Boxing Promotions at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, Fiji November 30th, Fijian Ronald Naidu has defeated fellow countryman Jesse Ravudi by way of unanimous decision to claim the vacant WBF Australasian Super Welterweight title, his first championship title since turning professional in 2011.

The near 3000 in attendance were not disappointed witnessing a toe to toe war from the opening bell to the end of the final round between two willing challengers chasing Championship glory. But it was 28 year old Naidu who was too good on the night edging out a game Ravudi who suffered a few slips due to slippery boots throughout the entertaining bout.

The early rounds had Naidu in front but the middle rounds belonged to Ravudi who was finding his range and mark. The later rounds were a seesawing battle that had both boys standing out at times but at the end of the 8th and final round and an action packed championship bout it went to the judges score cards and they saw it this way 95-93  97-92 and 97-93 all in favour of the winner and new WBF Australasian Super Welterweight Champ Ronald Naidu.

Ronald is the son of former middleweight boxer Ram Sami who fought in the 1970's and later became a Promoter.
