Aussie Michael Upton to defend his Asia Pacific Welterweight Crown in a Fight of the Year candidate

The first fight between these two warriors was named the WBF Fight of the Year last year and the rematch promises to be a contender for the same award.

In a hotly contested 10 round slug fest that had the capacity crowd on its feet for the entire fight, WBF Asia Pacific Welterweight Champ Michael Upton had his hand raised in victory via way of a split points decision over fellow Australian the skilled and durable Will Sands.

Sands will have his chance at redemption come November 5th in Newcastle Australia on a Jeff Fenech / Steel City Boxing Promotion billed as Detonation 7.
