Well it is busy in the gym at the moment, with plenty of young fellows coming through, who were all treated to a great training session when Narooma’s Booma ‘BadBad’ Leroy Brown dropped in and did some sparring. The Booma is preparing for a fight on March 5 at the Nowra Entertainment Centre. He will fight Indonesia’s #1 contender Aswin Cabuy over six rounds, as a warm up to his Bega fight on April 10, where he will fight for the WBF World Youth Middleweight Title.

“King Versus The Man” press Conference proved to be a success with both fighters having entered the room with a champion’s aura.

The preliminary stare down eyeing each other off verified this is going to be a WAR.

Promoter Joe Nader said “As a promoter, I have seen many fighters believe they have the confidence to go the distance, however show a dismal performance. These two boys have the hunger to become the next WBF World Champion and BOTH will go all the
way. Sam Soliman will bring experience to the table. Shannon being the under dog will bring the will to give all his got and cause an upset.”

The World Boxing Foundation would like to express its condolences to the family of lightweight champion Mlungisi Dlamini who was tragically killed in a car accident last Friday. The “Killer Shark” as he was known in the ring fought and defended his WBF title five times and in recent months was also crowned IBO champion. WBF President Mick Croucher who was personally in attendance at many of Dlamini’s championship fights was deeply saddened upon hearing the news and recalls that “he was a good person and a good fighter and had so much more potential in the ring.“ Dlamini’s outstanding record of 21 wins and 12 knockouts in the ring will however not be forgotten and the WBF joins the boxing world in mourning the loss of a great champion.
