On the same card Heavyweights Justin Whitehead and Colin Wilson also battle it out.

Rising Gold Coast boxing star Les “Lock & Load” Sherrington (25-5, 16 knockouts) makes the first defense of his WBF interim world super middleweight championship when he defends against former time IBF and WBA world title challenger Antwun “Kid Dynamite” Echols (34-12-4, 29 ko’s) from the United States. Venue for this much anticipated shootout is the Convention Center, Broadbeach. Date, Saturday night March 6.

The World Boxing Foundation executive has decided to vacate the WBF World Heavyweight Title due to the champion Francois Botha not defending within the agreed time limit. Three months have elapsed since this expired and no further defence intentions have been provided. Furthermore there is substantial interest in the title by other deserving contenders and this will allow such applications to be considered. We wish Mr Botha all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his time with the WBF.
