Qato keeps WBF middle belt!

It was history in motion in Washington D.C. as Howard University’s Burr Gymnasium hosted two World Boxing Foundation title bouts under the proud sponsorship of Babie Girl Productions.

The main event pit east against west as Albanian fighter and WBF Middleweight Champion, Kreshnik “The Eagle” Qato, went toe-to-toe with challenger David “The Weezil” Estrada of Chicago, IL. The championship clash became a patriotic battle as many of Qato’s countrymen were in attendance and chanted lustily in celebration of Qato’s first contest in the United States.

Two World Boxing Foundation (WBF) title bouts headline a Babie Girl Promotions card on Saturday, December 20 at Howard University’s Burr Gymnasium in Washington DC.

WBF Middleweight champion Kreshnik “The Eagle” Qato of London, England will defend his title against Chicago’s David “The Weezel” Estrada in a scheduled 12-round contest.

Qato, a native of Albania (17-6, two KOs), is making the first defense of his title that he captured on April 4 in his native land. Qato won a 12-round unanimous decision over Vitor Sa.

Estrada (12-10, nine KOs) has won his last two bouts by knockout, including a fourth-round knockout over Robert Kamya on February 1 in Hinckley, MN.

In the mid nineteen seventies, the Sylvestor Stallone movie Rocky won an academy award. The film featured an average run of the mill fighter although having lost many of his fights been suddenly afforded the opportunity to fight for the world heavyweight title against the undefeated world heavyweight champion.
