Michal Bilak of the Czech Republic battled to a split points win over Marcin Piatkowski of Poland taking home the WBF International Super Middleweight Championship on Saturday night in Poznan, Poland. Judge Per Malmberg (Denmark) scored the bout 97-93, Andreas Muller (Germany) 97-93 and Zbigniew Lagosz (Poland) 95-96. Wlodzimierz Kromka of Poland refereed the bout and Paweł Kardyni was the official supervisor.

Next month will see championship boxing brought to Albania when local hero Kreshniq Qato returns home from the UK to take on Portugal’s Vitor Sa for the WBF World Middleweight Title in the nation’s capital Tirana. The bout takes place on 4 April and is being promoted by Ylli Ndroqi, head of Yldon. WBF President, Mick Croucher and European Coordinator, Olaf Schroder will also be in attendance for this historic bout.
