Twinkling little star boxer, Muvhuso “Hands of Thunder” Nedzanani, pipped four times former world champion Cassius “Hitman” Baloyi in the East Rand Veterans boxing annual awards.

Nedzanani, the WBF junior flyweight champion, was unanimously voted Boxer of the Year.

On 30 November Southern Cross Boxing Promotions presents Championship Fight Night at Sweeney’s Scenic Hills in Ingleburn. The WBF International Super Bantamweight Title will be at stake when hot local prospects Davey Brown and Roberto Lerio enter the ring. The weigh in will be held at 7:30PM on Thursday 29 November at the Bradbury Inn Hotel. The undercard includes matchups with Matt Vincent, Steve Bell and Omari Kimweri.

Wonga “The Bomber” Mhlana must have learnt a lesson last weekend – that silence is golden.

Mhlana, with 12 knockouts from 13 fights, promised to blow Oscar “Golden Boy” Chauke away for the WBF junior featherweight title at Tlokwe Banquet Hall in Potchefstroom. Instead he became Chauke’s sixth victim who failed to last the scheduled distance.

Muvhuso Nedzanani withstood a courageous challenge from John Alberto Molina to retain his World Boxing Foundation junior flyweight title in Potchefstroom on Friday night.

The South African won by unanimous decision but had to work for every point to beat the shorter Colombian.
