Newly appointed WBF mascots, Richie and Russell Cowburn continue their families’ long association with boxing, proudly displaying the WBF World Title belt. If their Grandfather, world class boxing judge Desmond Bloyd has anything to do with it, Russell and Richie may one day lay claim to their own. The boys’ Great Grandfather, Garry Cowburn held two Queensland State titles, two Australian Titles and is well known for his sixth round knockout win over the great George Bracken. Their Grandmother hails from the Williams clan of the North Coast Mission in Queensland which also produced quite a swag of good Australian fighters.

It will be the first time in more than 30 years as a trainer that Lewis will dash from one show to another on the same day.

This was officially announced at press conference at Wanderers Sport Club in Johannesburg.

However, Botha will not move straight to a world title clash as it was earlier reported.
